We're Boston's fun movers. We don't just get the job done; we have fun doing what we do best, and we want to make sure that you have fun too. First off, let's not call it "moving," that brings to mind too many negative conotations. We like to call it "hopping." Whether you're hopping to a pad down the street or to another pond altogether, it should be a fun and easy experience, at least as far as getting your stuff from A to B is concerned.
We cover the greater Boston area, as well as the suburbs, and we're not afraid to leave the pond. If you're hopping long distance, we will make sure your stuff gets to your new home safe and sound.
Adrian Iorga, President of Stairhopper Movers, makes a point of acting as company leader, team foreman, and mover. He can help you organize your hop and move your boxes at the same time. He has been helping people move for the past five years, and, after deciding that his previous employers didn't know how to make moving fun, he started the Stairhoppers.
Mona Bostan is the Operations Manager for StairHopper Movers. In other words, she will be talking you through your move and handling all of the administration involved with your move.
"This was a very stressful move for my family but your company and your employees made it so much better... They did the job and kept me laughing. I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you for the great job!" - Jessica and Mark? of Wilmington, MA
"The Stairhoppers were great....the guys were the best. We had a wonderful and smooth move. The guys were extremely organized and did a fabulous job in a very short time. I would recommend them without any reservations. Keep up the good work. " - Sabarni C of Boston, MA

"I had to move from Boston to Washington DC and they made everything easy for me and my family. Additionally, the cost of the move was a bargain for the service, speed, and care I received. Only nice words for this company and all our appreciation." - Christina C of Allston, MA
You might think we don't look like your average moving company. We're not! The Stairhoppers will make your move a fun experience, while taking exceptional care of your belongings. We love hopping up and down your stairs with heavy boxes and sleeper sofas, so don't break your own back! Let us break ours. We love it!
We are a full-service moving company. You can call us at the last minute, with nothing packed, say your goodbyes to the old home and we will take it from there. Or, you can have all your belongings packed in boxes and stacked by your front door when we arrive. Either way, we'll make a point to be as gentle as pollywogs.
Even if you are just moving to the apartment upstairs because you're tired of the street noise, we can lend a helping hand. There is no good reason for you to risk a hernia just because it is a short distance move. Let trained professionals handle the hard stuff. Our prices are much cheaper than a hernia operation, and our service is much more fun.
You can keep costs down
We will give you the best move at the lowest possible cost. We are dedicated to providing you with a lower final bill. The more information you are able to provide, the better we are able to prepare and keep costs down. There are no hidden charges - costs are within your control.

Other factors that may affect costs:
We know that "they" say that moving is one of the most stressful things in life, especially long distance, but we believe that moving can be fun. It all depends how you look at it and who you hire to help you do it. Let us move you from here to there in one, long, happy hop. We can't help you enroll the kids in a new school or tell you about the best restaurants in your new town, but we can certainly make sure you have everything on time and for a price that won't cut into your house paint budget.

Pick-Up Spread
To consolidate loads and get from "here to there", it will take some time. Our Long Distance Dispatch Team will stay in contact with you throughout the move to keep you informed of the day for pick-up and delivery.
Government Regulated Weigh-Station
Moving companies are not able to determine the exact weight of your shipment until it has been weighed. Government sanctioned weigh-stations weigh our trucks before pick-up and after pick-up. Your TOTAL weight is the difference between these. You will be provided with official weight receipts.
Transit Protection (Valuation)
Although we are one of the best moving companies in Boston, we are nonetheless human, and upon occasion, mistakes do happen. We want to make sure you are fully protected during your move, so when moving with Stairhopper Movers, you can choose to purchase a valuation option that protects your shipment. We offer both select item(s) depreciated value as well as total depreciated value. In the event that you decline this coverage, the shipment will be protected by Stairhopper Movers' Basic Valuation. Regardless of which option is selected, any and all claims must be filed with Stairhopper Movers in writing within 15 days of completing the move.
Transit Protection (Valuation) is NON-REFUNDABLE once purchased.
Basic Valuation
Stairhopper Movers' Basic Valuation protects customers for up to $500.00 in total repair or replacement cost per move. Above $500.00, Stairhopper Movers, as a licensed common carrier in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, has a maximum legal liability by state law of $0.60 per pound per article. Basic valuation is not insurance.
Select Item(s) Depreciated Value
Select Item(s) Depreciated Value is based on the cumulative value of the items listed under the "item description" section of the Select Item(s) Depreciated Value Listing. Stairhopper Movers requires that this form be completed by any customer who wishes to purchase Select Item(s) Depreciated Value. Each item should be listed with enough detail so that it cannot be mistaken for another item. Any item not listed on this sheet or in the "property description" area of the Agreement to Insure (issued on move day) will only be covered by Basic Valuation.
Total Depreciated Value
Total Depreciated Value is based on the cumulative depreciated value of the entire shipment on the day of the move.

We're here to help make sure your move is fun and efficient, but even if you decide not to hire the Stairhoppers, there are a few tips we can offer to help your move go smoothly.
Books, Records, CDS
Use only small boxes for books, they tend to get very heavy. Records should be packed on end, side by side.
Clothing
Your best bet for clothing are wardrobe boxes. You can move clothing on hangers straight from your closet to the wardrobe boxes. Clothing in drawers should be packed in suitcases or boxes.
Electronic equipment
Ideally, you should pack electronic equipment such as stereos, TVs and computers in their original boxes with their original packing material. If you don't have the original boxes, wrap the equipment in plastic bags. Wrap each piece in bubble wrap and pack in our heavy duty TV Box.
Furniture
If you can take your furniture apart in any way to make it easier to move, make sure you put all nuts, bolts and screws in a small zip-lock bag and tape the bag to the furniture. Tape drawers shut where necessary. Wrap exposed legs (on tables and chairs) in bubble wrap or paper. Wrap in furniture pads and tie securely.
Kitchenware
Wrap breakable items in bubble wrap or paper. Put layers of bubble wrap between each plate or bowl. Fill the top bowl with crumpled paper. Make sure you put the heavier items on the bottom of the box.
Wrap nonbreakable items in paper before packing in a box. Use cell packs to separate delicate items. Make sure you pack all the items you'll need for your first few days in you new home in one box, and label it prominently.
Appliances
Wrap small appliances in paper or your kitchen towels or linens. Tape the bottom of a medium box securely and put down a layer of paper for padding. If you want, you can pack several small appliances to a box. It's up to you.
Also for large appliances, make sure you check your owner's manual for any special instructions before you start to pack. Make sure the inside and outside of all appliances are clean. You can stuff the inside of some appliances, such as washing machines and dryers, with towels or linens. Tape down any parts that could come loose - the burners on your stove, the electrical cords, etc. It's very important to wrap the appliance with furniture pads and tie securely.
Mirrors and framed art
For complete safety, these items may be crated for shipment. Tape an X of masking tape across mirrors and paintings framed with glass. Wrap each item in bubble wrap. You can use our shipping cartons for these pieces. Make sure you label everything fragile.
Art and collectibles
You must use Corrugated Corners and wrap each piece in bubble wrap. Pad the bottom of a large box with crumpled paper. Give the items plenty of space, and make sure you add lots of packing material on the sides, between items and on top. And don't forget to label the box "fragile."
Valuables
You must move all your legal documents, jewelry and currency personally.?Keep these items in your possession throughout the move.
Make sure you keep a detailed inventory while you pack so that you stay organized and don't have problems finding things when you get to your new home.
Inventory for your mover
We will give you an inventory sheet for the move. The inventory sheet should be a complete list of all the items you will have moved by the mover. The mover will write down the condition of each of your items for the mover's protection.
